Domonique Rowley Psychologist and Clinical Psychology Registrar

“I believe deeply in the power of clarity.”

Hi, I’m Domonique, Founder and Principal Psychologist at The Thought Garden.

I’ve always been drawn to the “why” behind behaviour. In my previous work as a teacher, I often found myself thinking, “This child needs more support than school systems are built to offer”. That curiosity eventually led me to work as a Guidance Officer, and then as a psychologist, where I discovered my true passion… assessments.

Over the years, I’ve worked in schools and private practice, supporting children, teens and adults through diagnostic assessments. I now focus exclusively on assessments because I believe deeply in the power of clarity. When you finally understand what’s going on, for yourself or your child, it changes everything. In total, I have 9 years of experience as a psychologist, the last 3 being dedicated entirely to assessments.

I have a particular passion and skill for identifying neurodivergence in girls and women, who often go under the radar because they tend to mask their traits more effectively to fit in with others. The traditional understanding of how neurodivergence presents is also largely based on how it presents in boys, so many signs in females simply don’t fit the mould. With training, experience and observation, I’ve learned to recognise the more subtle ways neurodivergence can show up that might otherwise be missed.

My Mission

My mission is to make psychological assessments accessible, neurodiversity-affirming and growth-focused. With flexible payments, a simple process and a safe space for discovery. Because every client deserves to feel seen, supported and empowered.
